Shri Amit Shah’s Tributed Visit to Vinay Border Outpost
As Shri Amit Shah visited ‘Vinay’, he paid tribute to the martyr Assistant Commandant Vinay Prasad of the BSF. The soldiers made a tragic sacrifice while on duty at the international border in Kathua district in 2019, ensuring the security of the country during a difficult period.
The visit was marked by an inspiring exchange between Shri Amit Shah and several dignitaries and officers from different branches, including the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, the Union Home Secretary, Director of the Intelligence Bureau, and Director-General of the Border Security Force. During his visit, Shri Shah highlighted the challenges faced by soldiers in discharging their duties, emphasizing that their dedication to security was a source of strength against external threats.
New Facilities and Technology Initiatives
Shri Amit Shah introduced the inaugurated facilities at the border post, including 8 women Barracks, High Mast Lights, G+1 Tower, and Composite BOP. These modern buildings were constructed with over Rs 47.22 crore expenditure to enhance security and provide better living conditions for soldiers.
During his visit, Shri Shah focused on addressing the difficulties faced by soldiers, especially Vinay Prasad, who made the ultimate sacrifice in that pivotal year. He expressed confidence in the technical prowess of the BSF soldiers, which allowed them to remain vigilant even under extreme circumstances.
Focus on Soldiers’ Welfare and Technology
Shri Amit Shah emphasized the importance of soldier welfare, particularly for those from martyred ranks like Vinay Prasad. He noted that despite challenges such as extreme cold, heavy rainfall, or hot temperatures, soldiers remained committed to security, a spirit that remains strong today.
Additionally, Shri Shah highlighted several technology initiatives aimed at improving situational awareness and disaster preparedness. These efforts are crucial for ensuring the safety of civilians while maintaining order in critical situations.
Significance of the Visit
Shri Amit Shah’s visit reflects a broader trend of government prioritization on the welfare of its security forces. The BSF, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been delivering significant initiatives to improve their services and readiness, including Ayushman CAPF (free medical insurance), accidental death coverage, and efforts towards unified pension schemes.
Shri Shah’s encounter with the BSF highlighted the need for ongoing collaboration between the public and government agencies to foster trust and mutual respect in security matters. His visit serves as a reminder of the enduring spirit of the soldiers and the vital role they play in maintaining national security.
