PM Modi Reviews Projects during Meeting of PRAGATI
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a meeting with the 46th edition of PRAGATI, an ICT-based multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, the focus was on several key initiatives. The meeting highlighted the importance of integrating advanced infrastructure projects into the city’s growing development plans.
During the discussion, PM Modi emphasized the need for a holistic approach to urban planning, ensuring that all projects are aligned with the city’s long-term growth trajectory. He directed stakeholders to explore innovative solutions, such as extending PRAGATI’s Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMV) program, which was prioritized for promoting child welfare and ensuring a thriving local ecosystem.
The meeting also focused on infrastructure development projects, with three significant initiatives discussed:

Ring Road Development: PM Modi stressed the importance of integrating this project as part of broader urban planning efforts. He noted the need for holistic integration and alignment with the city’s growth trajectory over the next 25–30 years.

Jal Marg Vikas Project: The emphasis was on strengthening community engagement along the river to foster cruise tourism, which would not only boost local businesses but also create opportunities for economic development, particularly in sectors associated with the ‘One District One Product initiative’.
Additionally, PM Modi highlighted the potential for integrating a Circular Rail Network within the city’s transport infrastructure. This complementary and sustainable alternative for public transportation was proposed to complement existing initiatives and ensure efficient infrastructure development.
PM Modi also reiterate the importance of leveraging tools such as PM GatiShakti (the latest version of PRAGATI) to enable holistic and forward-looking planning. He emphasized that the use of these tools is crucial for achieving synergy across sectors and ensuring efficient infrastructure development.
