PM Chairs 46th PRAGATI Interaction: A Vision for Sustainable Development Through Technology and Community Engagement

In a thrilling meeting today at the heart of India’s digital transformation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the 46th edition of the PRAGATI platform, an ICT-driven multi-modal initiative aimed at fostering Pro-Active Governance and timely Implementation. This event was marked by the review of eight significant projects worth over Rs 90 crore, a testament to the collaboration between the nation’s leaders and the government’s commitment to innovation and community well-being.

Among the projects reviewed was Pmatu (Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana), a program designed to identify beneficiaries through biometrics-based Aadhaar authentication. The PM emphasized that all Ministries and Departments must ensure the identification of beneficiaries strictly through these biometric methods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the process.

The journey ahead was paved by efforts to integrate additional projects into Pmatu, focusing on initiatives aimed at promoting child care, improving health and hygiene practices, ensuring cleanliness, and addressing other related aspects. This holistic approach ensured that every project contributed to the overall well-being of mothers and new-borns, highlighting the PM’s commitment to holistic planning.

In the broader context of infrastructure development, the review of a Ring Road as a key component of urban planning was emphasized with priority. The PM stressed that this integration must be holistically approached, aligning it with the city’s growth trajectory over the next 25-30 years, ensuring sustainability and efficiency in its development. They also urged the study of various modeling techniques to promote self-sustainability, considering long-term viability.

For those who witnessed Jal Marg Vikas Project, the PM highlighted a vision to establish strong community connections along the stretches for boosting cruise tourism. This initiative was designed to foster vibrant local ecosystems by creating opportunities for business and livelihood development, particularly for artisans and entrepreneurs associated with ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) initiatives.

Throughout the meeting, the PM reiterates the importance of leveraging tools such as PM GatiShakti and other integrated platforms to enable holistic planning. These tools are crucial for synergy across sectors and efficient infrastructure development, ensuring that decisions are informed by accurate and up-to-date data.

Up to 370 projects, totaling around Rs 20 lakh crore, have been reviewed in the 46th edition of PRAGATI, showcasing the nation’s dedication to innovation. The PM stressed the need for stakeholders to regularly update their databases with accurate and current information, as this is essential for informed decision-making and effective planning.

In conclusion, the PM’s meeting underscored the importance of integrating technology, community engagement, and sustainable planning to drive India’s future. By focusing on projects that prioritize well-being, community development, and infrastructure efficiency, the nation can move towards a more thriving and sustainable future, aligning with both global standards and its unique regional needs.
