** INS Imphal’s Visiting Breakthrough Marks a Major Step in India’s Ocean Journey**

In an exciting milestone for India, INS Imphal completed her port visit to Mauritius on 14 March 25, marking a significant achievement in the nation’s ocean journey across the Indian Ocean. This visit marked the 57th Mauritius National Day celebrations, where INS Imphal participated in a grand parade, showcasing the power of India with a marching contingent, the Indian Navy band, and two MH 60R helicopters for a visually stunning flyover. Shri Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister, was the Chief Guest at this special event.

Throughout her port visit, INS Imphal engaged in numerous professional interactions, cultural activities, sports fixtures, and community outreach efforts. She conducted training capsules on key subjects such as harbour, sea watchkeeping, VBSS (Visit, Board, Search and Seizure), force protection, shipborne helicopter operations, firefighting, and damage control. These sessions underscored her dedication to enhancing the robust bonds between India and Mauritius.

Additionally, INS Imphal arranged a medical camp for elderly citizens at Gayasingh Ashram, emphasizing her commitment to community engagement. She also hosted a deck reception with senior ministers and officials from Mauritius, showcasing mutual visits and collaborations. The public presence on Mauritius National Day, attracting over 1,300 visitors, highlighted the country’s spirit of unity.

Upon departure, INS Imphal embarked on a bilateral Passage Exercise and Joint EEZ Surveillance with MCGS Victory, consolidating efforts to strengthen the Indian Navy-Mauritius Coast Guard (NCG) partnership. This landmark deployment underscored the significance of this milestone in advancing mutual growth, reaffirming India’s role as both a ‘First Responder’ and a ‘Preferred Security Partner.’
