Delhi ACB Files a Case Against AAP Leaders in ₹2,000 Cr Classrooms Scam

In a concerning development, the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of Delhi Police has officially registered a case against senior leaders from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain. The complaint arises from an alleged classroom construction scam involving over ₹20 crore, which involved more than 12,000 classrooms and buildings.

The probe began after some BJP leaders called for a significant increase in the cost of constructing classrooms, citing rising expenses as a red flag. However, it was revealed that these claims were baseless, with many class rooms being built at lower costs. The ACB revealed that most of the 34 firms contracted for this project were associated with AAP, highlighting a direct link to corruption within the party.

The scam involved completing thousands of classrooms in the AAP government tenure without delivering high-quality products or services, leading to a substantial increase in costs. This case underscores the ACB’s role in investigating corruption and ensuring accountability in public institutions.

Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain are charged with violating laws and failing to deliver on promises. The case not only highlights the seriousness of classroom construction but also raises questions about the effectiveness of education reforms under AAP leadership.

In conclusion, this case serves as a cautionary tale for both individuals and institutions involved in public infrastructure projects. As the ACB continues its investigation, it will likely shed new light on how corruption can impact educational sectors and the need for greater scrutiny of government initiatives.
