Bureau of Indian Standards Hosts 15th Plenary Meeting for AI Standards

The event was held in New Delhi, where India’s role in shaping global AI standards became a subject of significant discussion.

Nidhi Khare, Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, emphasized India’s commitment to advancing AI technology, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs) and Small Language Models (SLMs). She highlighted the importance of global collaboration with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), ensuring standards are inclusive, context-aware, and globally consistent.
